PE/Driver's Education Overview
Class Overview Physical Education
The purpose of physical education is to keep students physically active for their lifetime, refine motor skills and develop a fitness routine. You will be involved in a wide range of movement, knowledge and skill building experiences.
Expectations
My expectations are designed to make it possible to teach and for my students to learn in a safe and orderly environment in which students show respect for one another. You will be held accountable for your behavior. If needed you will be referred to the administration and parent contact is a possibility. If you have a problem or concern please bring it to my attention.

Materials
Proper attire
T- shirt must have sleeves, midriff and chest area covered without underwear showing, no inappropriate logos
Shorts at proper length using the finger tip test. The finger tip test requires that the length of clothing be at or below finger tips when arms are placed at one’s side. Sweatshirts and sweatpants are also acceptable.
No jewelry when participating in certain activities.
Sneakers shall be Velcro or tied properly, no slip-ons.
Grading Policy
50 % Participation In June final exam 10%
30 % skill
20 % knowledge
Absences
2 excused absences per marking period. After 2, they need to be made up or you lose 10 points off of your participation grade for each extra absence you .
Unprepared
Every unprepared can effect your grade. A total of 2 are allowed to be made up per marking period. Anything over 2, there will be a deduction of 10 points per extra unprepared off of your participation grade. Each week one make up class is held in the field house from 2:35-3:30. Make up classes start at 2:40 sharp.
Nurse Excuse – needs to be made up unless followed up by a doctor’s excuse.
Medical notes - An alternative assessment will be given for each week out.
Cell phone - not in the field house
No books or book bags in the field house.
